So I've been gone forever. Homework is piling up, laundry is piling up, stress is piling up. But I am determined to rise from it!!
But despite the stress and worry over all of it, I have decided to throw myself into "happy" mode. Yes, that's right... I am pretty much in full holiday spirit these days. I LOVE that New England is covered in snow. I have been listening to Christmas music for about two weeks now. And I've changed my screensaver and desktop background to a holiday photo. I am annoyingly spirited lately.
I'm ready for the fireplace to be crackling with wood and the ornaments to shine and glisten on the tree. I'm ready to bake Christmas candies and wrap gifts. I'm even ready... dare I say it... to brave the shopping malls. I NEVER say that! I absolutely LOATHE the mall around the holidays because of cranky shoppers with no patience. But not this year. I think I'm ready for all of it. Go ahead, call me crazy!
I think the best part of all of it, though, is family. I think I'm just ready to spend some real quality time with all of them. I'm lucky to have the people I do have in my life. And that includes my friend-family and my work-family. I am pretty blessed. Life is still good.
